Boobs & Bags
These are gifts made with care and compassion for the hospital to pass on to people when they are discharged.
They meet on Thursday afternoons for around three hours – cutting, sewing and stuffing cushions with polyester filling. Everyone takes a turn at each part of the process but if someone does not sew then there are plenty of other tasks available to help complete the work.
“During last year our group made and donated around 400 of these kits, and the demand is increasing year on year. In order to make this a sustainable project, we undertake fund raising from time to time and have also been supported by community charities”, said Sue Sullivan, Publicity Manager. She continued. “We are also eager to accept donations of polyester fibre for stuffing the cushions and soft cotton fabrics to be made into cushions.”
