Note. Do not try to use non-stick bakeware because (surprise?) the glue won’t stick.
Step 1 Cut a circle of fabric large enough to be able to gather into a circle stuffed with fibre filling and fit into the container spilling over generously. We used a 25cm-diameter circle of fabric for our 6cm-diameter container. |
Step 2 Place a ball of fibre filling into the centre of the fabric, ball it up and gather (just with your hand, not sewing) the fabric edges together around the filling. Secure with an elastic band then tie with thread and remove the elastic. |
Step 3 Apply glue to the inside of the container and fit your pincushion into place. |
Make loads more for gifts.
Tip. Get creative with the fabric before you make up your circle – embroider it, patchwork it, use pieces of old doileys…
