If you love the humble tea cosy, you’ll love this unique exhibition of tea cosies at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre in Bundoora, Victoria.
Teavotion celebrates the tea cosy as a domestic icon and raises funds in support of Australian Red Cross. All of the handmade tea cosies have been donated for sale at the exhibition, with all proceeds going to the charity.
The Gallery Manager of Bundoora Homestead Art Centre Ella Hinkley is excited to present the creative responses to the humble teapot. “There are many amazing and varied tea cosies on display. From cuddly animals to abstract compositions, they are indeed eclectic and captivating.” Ella said. “This is the seventh time we’ve hosted the tea cosy exhibition. It’s created a bit of a cult following. Over the last few months we have offered a free space for creative types to come together and knit and crochet towards their unique vision; this project is just as much about the joy of making and sharing together as it is to celebrate the creativity of others.”
Teavotion also presents a series of photographs relating to tea cosies by Mark Crocker.
Teavotion is on now at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre until 3 April 2016.
