Book Review
The Quilter’s Album of Patchwork Patterns by Jinny Beyer
THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF MY FAVOURITE CRAFT BOOKS.
Reviewed by Olivia O’Farrell, NSW
It has many traditional designs, It is a gorgeous hard cover book with more than 4,000 patchwork block designs.
Jinny’s original block designs too, plus collections of themed blocks including tree blocks, basket blocks and lots more.
All of the blocks have a base design and are grouped accordingly, from four-patch and nine-patch blocks to more complex eight-pointed LeMoyne Star blocks and much more.
The colours used throughout are rich and inspiring too – many of them from the Jinny Beyer Palette, a fabric range which is a personal favourite of mine.
A bonus with the book is a set of clear sheets that fit in to the inside back cover, with many of the block bases drafted, making it easy to draft any block to any size. I think this book is an excellent point of reference for quilters of all skill levels.
The Quilter’s Album of Patchwork Patterns, published by Breckling Press, is available at Can Do Books. JinnyBeyer.com and major book retailers.
