Kathy returns with her sixth book – this time one inspired by free-form appliqué and unleashing your creative spirit. Kathy admits that she used to steer clear of appliqué believing she didn’t have the skill or patience to needleturn appliqué. Kathy shares that once she learnt appliqué was all about the preparation, and more importantly that she embraced the preparation as part of the creative process she was an appliqué convert. Appliqué allows all quilters to have a unique creative voice, Kathy believes. Draw inspiration from Kathy’s eight appliqué projects that are suitable for beginners through to more accomplished sewers. Techniques include broderie perse, English paper piecing, needleturn appliqué, bias strips, sewing circles and boro stitching. Join Kathy to let go of you creative inhibitions and broaden your colour and fabric horizons.
