Polish artisans headed to Brisbane to share their skills
The Scrapbook, Papercraft & Art Expo to be held in Brisbane this June will be hosting two outstanding international paper artists – Karola Witczak and Mariusz Gierszewski – both from Poland. Both artists are affiliates of the Mintay range of scrapbooking papers.
The Mintay range is actually the creative concept of Karola Witczak who is an internationally recognised designer, craft teacher and industry consultant. Currently, Karol teaches Mintay classes around the globe, presenting attendees with creative ways to use many different paper collections that she has designed herself. Karola describes her style as ‘modern shabby chic’ and her projects have a romantic feel and are characterised by 3D layering and soft mixed media.
28-year-old Mariusz Gierszewski is also paper designer for Mintay. He began scrapbooking 7 years ago and has built a wealth of experience in the industry working and designing for a number of scrapbooking and craft companies. Mariusz has taught workshops throughout Europe and Asia. His work is not contained to one style. He creates an eclectic mix of designs all cleverly utilising individual elements isolated on various papers to create 3D works.
Both are teaching classes on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Scrapbook, Papercraft & Art Expo in Brisbane.
Dates: June 6 to 9
Where: Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre
