The Biggest Quilt Show on Earth!

RUNNING FOR SEVEN DAYS AND WITH MORE THAN 40,000 PEOPLE PER DAY ATTENDING, THE TOKYO INTERNATIONAL GREAT QUILT FESTIVAL IS THE LARGEST QUILT SHOW IN THE WORLD.

Not big – huge!

Reece Scannell visited and sent us some pictures to share with you. Thank you Reece!

In Tokyo, the Shinjuku railway station, a central hub, is used by more than 3.5 million commuters each day so huge numbers of people are the norm in Japan’s capital, but even by Japanese standards this is a large number to attend a quilt show.

Reece has only one word to describe the show … “Awesome!!!” Reece Scannell designs fabric, specialising in cottons that look like silk. His exclusive material is available at the  Australasian Quilt Convention 2015 and he will also teach a Colour Workshop at this event.
