Sharing the Lest We Forget Quilt Challenge
This time last year we invited quilters from around Australia and New Zealand to submit a small quilt (25cm square) to be part of the Lest We Forget Quilt Challenge, exploring what Lest We Forget means to them.
Our aim was to create a tribute to commemorate this important year in our history… 100 quilts for 100 years since the Gallipoli landing. What was created was so much more than we could have anticipated – the collection of more than 100 quilts with their special stories and many dedications to the makers’ family members is very personal, heartwarming, and touching.
During 2015 the quilts toured with some our events, premiering at the Australasian Quilt Convention (AQC), and then around Australia and NZ with the Craft & Quilt Fairs. Wherever the collection was displayed, it was met with genuine appreciation, as well as many tears.
We would like to share these wonderful quilts with you, so we can all remember the sacrifices made – please click on the cover of the e-book below to see all the quilts and read the stories behind them.
OUR SINCERE THANKS TO ALL THE QUILT MAKERS INVOLVED
